Joe Pye Weed

Description: After years of following false leads, I was driving down this back road in Southwestern Missouri and saw what was clearly a ‘Joe Pye weed’, and thought, you know it’s high and dry here (the others look-similars like more moisture) and that this plant may just be the long sought after (by me) Eupatorium purpureum. And sure enough, it is. Look at other Eupatorium photos to learn some distinctions between them
